Fishing Jet Skis

Purpose equipped personal watercraft for anglers who want access to fishing grounds beyond the reach of conventional shoreline fishing.

Fishing Jet Skis Made for the Water and the Catch

A fishing jet ski changes the way an angler can reach and work a fishing location. Its compact hull can access places that are difficult to reach with a conventional fishing boat, while modern fishing specific PWCs can carry rods, tackle, coolers, electronics and other equipment without losing the maneuverability that makes a personal watercraft attractive in the first place. The market has also moved well beyond simply attaching a rod holder to a recreational machine. Dedicated fishing models now incorporate fish finders, chartplotters, fishing seats, coolers, storage systems, rear platforms and specialized deck arrangements. Our selection therefore includes purpose built fishing PWCs from Sea Doo and Kawasaki, together with Yamaha WaveRunner configurations that can be equipped specifically for fishing and Taiga’s electric Orca WX3, which the manufacturer has designed with fishing setups among its intended uses.

Start With the Fishing Style

The best fishing PWC depends on how the machine will actually be used. An angler who spends the morning on an inland lake has different requirements from someone traveling several miles offshore. Some riders need a compact and relatively simple platform that can carry essential tackle, while others want a complete fishing station with navigation, sonar, cooler capacity and enough deck space to move around while casting.

This is why fishing equipment should be evaluated alongside the underlying watercraft. Hull stability, fuel capacity, storage, rider capacity, boarding arrangement and access to the rear deck can be just as important as engine performance. The fishing package then determines how effectively the PWC can function as an angling platform.

Sea Doo FishPro

Sea Doo has developed one of the most comprehensive dedicated fishing PWC families in the current market. Its 2026 Sport Fishing range consists of FishPro Scout, FishPro Sport and FishPro Trophy, giving anglers three distinct levels of fishing capability. Sea Doo describes the Scout around accessible fishing and family recreation, the Sport around versatility and exploration, and the Trophy around serious angling equipment and independence on the water.

FishPro Scout

2026 FishPro Scout

The Scout is designed for the occasional angler who also wants a personal watercraft suitable for general recreation. Sea Doo incorporates fishing equipment without turning the machine into a specialized vessel that can only be used for fishing. Its combination of fishing functionality and recreational usability makes it an appropriate starting point for customers who want one PWC to serve several purposes.

FishPro Sport

2026 FishPro Sport

The FishPro Sport moves further toward dedicated angling use while retaining the versatility expected from a Sea Doo PWC. Sea Doo positions the model around accessing fishing locations that may be difficult to reach with conventional fishing craft, with equipment intended to make the watercraft more useful once the rider reaches the fishing area.

FishPro Trophy

2026 FishPro Trophy

The Trophy is the most fishing focused member of the current Sea Doo range. Its equipment package is intended for anglers who want a PWC that can function as a serious fishing platform rather than a recreational watercraft with a few fishing accessories. The current specification includes Garmin navigation and fish finding equipment, a modular rotating seat, a quick connect livewell, LinQ fishing cooler, rear deck extension and other angler focused equipment.

* FishPro Scout
* FishPro Sport
* FishPro Trophy

The three models provide a useful progression from recreational fishing toward a more specialized angling setup. That distinction is important when selecting the PWC because not every customer needs the equipment level or additional cost associated with the top specification.

Kawasaki Jet Ski Fishing

Kawasaki takes a more specialized route with the JET SKI Ultra 160LX S Angler, a three passenger watercraft developed specifically around fishing. Rather than treating fishing equipment as an optional accessory package, Kawasaki integrates fishing functionality directly into the watercraft.

Ultra 160LX S Angler

2026 JET SKI Ultra 160LX S Angler

The Ultra 160LX S Angler uses a 1,498 cc inline four cylinder marine engine and a 22.5 degree Deep V hull. Kawasaki equips the machine with a Garmin ECHOMAP chartplotter and fish finder, side floats for additional stability while fishing, a front rod holder, four additional rod holders on the rear rack, an ORCA 58 quart cooler and a flat two section fishing bench seat.

The layout is particularly interesting for anglers who need to move around the watercraft while fishing. Kawasaki states that the flat fishing seat allows two riders to turn sideways while fishing and provides access to the cooler and tackle area. The machine also provides 44.5 gallons of total storage, including an easy access storage area and additional waterproof compartments.

Fishing Equipment Integrated Into the Kawasaki Platform

* Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 7 inch chartplotter
* Fish finder
* Front fishing rod holder
* Four rear fishing rod holders
* ORCA 58 quart cooler
* Flat two section fishing bench seat
* Side floats
* Rear fishing rack
* 44.5 gallons of total storage
* 21.1 gallon fuel capacity
* Extended Ultra Deck
* Kawasaki Smart Reverse with Deceleration

The result is a watercraft specifically configured around fishing rather than a standard recreational Jet Ski adapted afterward.

Yamaha WaveRunner Fishing Setups

Yamaha does not currently present a dedicated factory fishing WaveRunner category equivalent to Sea Doo’s FishPro or Kawasaki’s Ultra 160LX S Angler. Instead, Yamaha supports fishing through its broader WaveRunner platforms and accessory ecosystem. This distinction matters, because we should not incorrectly advertise an FX or VX as a factory dedicated fishing model when Yamaha actually offers fishing equipment and packages that can be installed on applicable watercraft.

FX Series Fishing Configuration

The FX HO is one of Yamaha’s larger WaveRunner platforms and can be configured with the manufacturer’s JetFish package. Yamaha’s current package includes an Engel 45 JetFish cooler, track mounted rod holders, RAM cup holders, tie down straps, fishing rod retention straps and track eyelet mounts. Yamaha states that an FX RecDeck is required and sold separately.

FX Models Suitable for Fishing Configurations

* FX HO
* FX Cruiser HO
* FX SVHO
* FX Cruiser SVHO
* FX Limited SVHO

Yamaha’s current WaveRunner accessory catalog also lists the RecDeck JetFish Package and Premium JetFish Package, giving customers the ability to configure compatible WaveRunner platforms around fishing rather than purchasing a dedicated fishing model.

VX Series Fishing Configuration

The VX family is another practical direction for anglers who want a versatile PWC that can be adapted for fishing. Yamaha describes the VX range as suitable for recreation, towing and fishing, and its accessory ecosystem includes fishing equipment that expands the platform’s utility.

VX Models

* VX C
* VX
* VX Deluxe
* VX Cruiser
* VX Cruiser HO
* VX Limited

The precise fishing configuration depends on the model and accessory compatibility. We would therefore specify the required fishing equipment together with the WaveRunner rather than presenting every VX variant as a dedicated fishing craft. Yamaha’s published product information also notes that product availability and specifications can vary by market.

Electric Fishing PWC

Electric propulsion is beginning to create another route into fishing from a personal watercraft. Taiga’s next generation Orca WX3 is particularly relevant because Taiga explicitly identifies fishing as one of the activities supported by the platform.

Taiga Orca WX3

Orca WX3

Taiga describes the WX3 as a three seat electric crossover watercraft designed for versatile riding, touring, tow sports and fishing. Its extended hull is designed to provide stability, while the rear platform is accessory ready and can support fishing configurations. Taiga also describes the WX3 as providing up to two hours of fun on the water under its stated conditions.

The WX3 gives anglers a fundamentally different propulsion experience. Its electric powertrain provides immediate torque and quiet operation, which can be particularly interesting when approaching fishing locations where reduced noise is desirable. It should, however, be evaluated according to the planned range, charging access and fishing location rather than treated as a direct substitute for every gasoline powered fishing PWC.

Why Fishing PWCs Are Different

A conventional recreational PWC is designed primarily around riding. A fishing PWC has to accommodate a second activity after the riding is finished. Once the craft reaches the fishing location, the rider needs to store or organize equipment, position rods, operate electronics, handle tackle and potentially move around the deck while maintaining balance.

That makes the deck layout particularly important. A flat or modular seat can make it easier to change position while fishing. An extended rear platform provides more usable working space. Rod holders keep equipment accessible without placing rods across the seating area. A dedicated cooler can serve both as fish storage and general onboard storage, while a chartplotter and sonar system can reduce the need for separate handheld equipment.

Stability and Fishing Position

Stability deserves particular attention when choosing a fishing PWC. Riders are not always seated in the normal forward riding position while fishing. They may turn sideways, stand briefly, reach toward the rear platform or move around to handle equipment. Hull width, center of gravity, deck arrangement and the presence of additional stabilizing features therefore influence the fishing experience.

Kawasaki’s Ultra 160LX S Angler is a strong example of this approach. Its fishing configuration includes side floats, a flat two section bench seat and a 22.5 degree Deep V hull, specifically addressing stability and movement while fishing.

Offshore Fishing From a PWC

A personal watercraft can provide access to fishing locations that are difficult to reach from shore, but the intended environment must determine the equipment and vessel selection. Offshore use places greater importance on hull behavior, fuel capacity, weather conditions, navigation equipment, communication equipment, storage and rider experience.

The larger Sea Doo FishPro models and Kawasaki Ultra 160LX S Angler are particularly relevant to customers looking for a more equipped fishing platform. Yamaha’s larger FX and VX models can also be configured with fishing equipment, while Taiga provides an electric alternative for customers whose fishing environment and charging access are compatible with its operating characteristics.

Fishing Equipment We Can Source

The PWC itself is only the foundation of the fishing setup. Depending on the platform, an angler may want to configure the craft with:

* Fish finder
* Chartplotter
* Rod holders
* Fishing cooler
* Livewell
* Tackle storage
* Rear storage rack
* Fishing seat
* Extended rear deck
* Waterproof storage
* Navigation equipment
* Auxiliary mounting systems

The exact equipment depends on the manufacturer and model. Some items are factory equipment while others are manufacturer approved accessories or aftermarket components, so each configuration should be confirmed before purchase.

Choose Your Fishing PWC

For occasional fishing and family use: Sea Doo FishPro Scout provides the most recreationally oriented route into the dedicated fishing category.

For versatile fishing trips: FishPro Sport provides a stronger balance between fishing functionality and general PWC recreation.

For serious angling: FishPro Trophy and Kawasaki Ultra 160LX S Angler provide substantially more dedicated fishing equipment.

For Yamaha buyers: compatible FX and VX platforms can be equipped through Yamaha’s JetFish packages and fishing accessories.

For electric fishing: Taiga Orca WX3 provides a three passenger electric platform designed to accommodate fishing setups.

Build the PWC Around Your Fishing

The right fishing personal watercraft is ultimately determined by the way you fish. Someone targeting sheltered lakes does not necessarily need the same hull, fuel capacity or electronics as an offshore angler. Likewise, an occasional fisherman may prefer a versatile recreational platform, while a dedicated angler can justify a purpose equipped FishPro or Ultra Angler.

Tell us where you fish, how many people normally ride with you, the equipment you need onboard and whether you prefer Sea Doo, Kawasaki, Yamaha or electric propulsion. From those details, the watercraft can be narrowed down according to the fishing application rather than simply its appearance or engine size.
